The African Popup Festival is a family-friendly event, encouraging people of all ages to learn about different cultures and to come out and support local vendors/businesses. It’s a fun, educational, and delicious way to spend time as a family, with the added excitement of the competition.

“The chefs are at the heart of our event,” Akin Akinsanya adds. “Their passion, creativity, and dedication are what bring our festival to life. We’re excited to give them a platform to showcase their talent and celebrate their countries’ cuisines.”

“Flatbush is a melting pot of diverse cultures, and our festival is a reflection of that. The Flatbush-Nostrand Junction BID is committed to continuing to support the growth and preservation of local culture and businesses through this event and other community initiatives.” – Kenneth Mbonu (President Flatbush-Nostrand Junction BID).
