On behalf of the African Restaurant Week, I would like to extend a warm invitation to you and friends to attend the 2nd annual New Jersey African Restaurant Week Festival on 6th – 7th August, 2021. This community event would include food from various parts of Africa/African Diaspora, Marketplace, Music stage, live performances .

The above Festival is part of the 2nd annual New Jersey African Restaurant Week from July25 – August 7 – celebrating the best of African/Black Diaspora cuisine and culture – during the “week” restaurants and participating businesses provide special menus and discounts and is another opportunity to showcase their business.
The festival which will serve as the closing event for the “week” begins at 12pm to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday, and will feature vendors and entrepreneurs (food, design, beauty, fashion, art, health), representing various parts of the Diaspora.
The Festival event will be held outdoors Bisrate Gebriel Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, 1046 South Orange Avenue, Newark, NJ 07106.
Marketplace – Food Tastings (food from Africa/African Diaspora, Marketplace (vendors across fashion, wellness, beauty, arts and more·
ENTERTAINMENT – All day – Live DJ performances with an Afrobeat and Global Sounds
CHEF CONTESTS – Come decide which chef has the best tasting Suya (kebab popular in West Africa)
African Restaurant Week which kicked off in New York city in 2013 brings together local residents, foodies, culture enthusiasts, social entrepreneurs and more – it is a commitment to community development and social impact and we are very excited to be partnering again with the city of Newark to host the 2nd annual New Jersey Edition.
