PUT AFRICAN/BLACK DIASPORA CUISINE ON “FOODIE RADAR”
Supporting Chefs/Artisans and Small Businesses
The 3rd annual New Jersey African Restaurant Week (celebrating the best of African/African Diaspora cuisine and culture) is taking place from August 17 – 27. Some of the participating restaurants (including Mama G African restaurant, Modupe, Woulibam and more) will be offering special reduced price menus in honor of the “Week” (please click for list of restaurants).
The “Week” also would include a “Food and Music Festival” on August 26 & 27 in Newark ( click for details). This Festival on August 26 & 27 is brought to you in partnership with the Mayor Ras J. Baraka’s Office in the City of Newark, Director of International Relations Deputy Mayor Ligia de Freitas and the Newark City Parks Foundation, Inc and is being held in the Arts & Education District.
The New Jersey African Restaurant week aims to help stimulate the local economy and help people discover dishes they might not have had the opportunity to try before – (restaurants would provide dishes at a discounted rate).
